NEWPORT BEACH | AROUND NEWPORT IN 3 MINUTES | NOVEMBER 4, 2026
Since Monday, the city has posted an update on the delayed special election and confirmed Tuesday’s Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission meeting was canceled. From Wednesday through Friday, the main civic business is Thursday’s run of hearings and commission meetings, followed by library programs and a Thursday night concert.
Special election delayed
The city says the special election on Measures P, Q and R did not take place Tuesday, Nov. 3, because required ballot-printing and protected-address voter-delivery arrangements were incomplete. The separate consolidated municipal election, including Measure H, was not affected. This is a decision already announced, not a new proposal. Read the city update. Parks meeting canceled
Tuesday’s Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission meeting was canceled, so there is no makeup meeting listed for Wednesday. Residents with park, beach or recreation business should use the city’s commission calendar for the next posted date rather than relying on the earlier agenda. Check the commission calendar.
